Sunk Cost Fallacy Lingo Bingo Card

Bingo for the reasons people keep going just because they already started.

What sunk cost fallacy bingo is about

The sunk cost fallacy is continuing a plan because of time, money or effort already spent, even when the future looks better without it. What is spent is gone either way, but it still feels like a reason to stay.

What to listen for

Listen for "we have come too far to stop," "after all we put into this," and refusing to leave a bad movie, project or meal because it is paid for. Project reviews and long running team plans are fertile ground.

Tips for watching and playing

Pairs nicely with work meetings, renovation shows and team retrospectives.

A fair mark needs the past cost used as the reason, not just mentioned.

When you host, pick whichever available packs fit the moment, or write your own private pack. Nothing selects a theme pack for you automatically.
