Confirmation Bias Lingo Bingo Card
Play bingo with the phrases people use when they only notice evidence that agrees with them.
What confirmation bias bingo is about
Confirmation bias is the habit of searching for, remembering and trusting information that supports what we already believe, while waving away anything that does not. Everyone does it, which is exactly why it makes such a good bingo theme: once you know the sound of it, you hear it everywhere.
What to listen for
Listen for selective proof ("see, this proves it"), dismissing sources by who said them rather than what they said, and stories that start with the conclusion. Watch for a single anecdote treated as settled fact, or contrary evidence called a fluke.
Tips for watching and playing
Play during a debate, a group chat argument replayed out loud, or any conversation about a topic people feel strongly about.
Be fair with yourself too: the best games happen when players mark their own side as readily as the other one.
When you host, pick whichever available packs fit the moment, or write your own private pack. Nothing selects a theme pack for you automatically.
