Anchoring Bias Lingo Bingo Card

Bingo for the moments when the first number or idea mentioned quietly sets the terms for everything after.

What anchoring bias bingo is about

Anchoring is our tendency to lean too hard on the first piece of information we hear. A first price, an opening estimate or an early framing becomes the reference point, and later judgments drift around it even when it was arbitrary.

What to listen for

Listen for opening offers, "originally priced at" claims, early guesses that never get revisited, and negotiations that only ever move a little from the first figure. Budget meetings and sales pitches are full of anchors.

Tips for watching and playing

Great for shopping shows, salary talks, real estate programs and planning meetings with estimates.

Write down the first number you hear; it makes it easy to see how much the conversation stays tethered to it.

When you host, pick whichever available packs fit the moment, or write your own private pack. Nothing selects a theme pack for you automatically.
