Political Speech Lingo Bingo Card
Nonpartisan bingo for the stock phrases that show up in speeches from every side.
What political speech bingo is about
Political speeches lean on reliable phrases: appeals to hard working families, promises to fight, and lines built for applause. Political speech bingo is about noticing rhetoric itself, regardless of party or position.
What to listen for
Listen for vague promises without details, folksy anecdotes about a single voter, applause lines, attacks on unnamed opponents and slogans repeated for effect. Every party uses these, which keeps the game fair.
Tips for watching and playing
Works for state addresses, rallies, conventions and press conferences.
