Halo Effect Lingo Bingo Card
A bingo game for spotting when one good trait makes people assume everything else is good too.
What halo effect bingo is about
The halo effect happens when one impressive quality, like charm, looks, fame or a famous employer, spills over into how we judge everything else about a person or product. A confident speaker seems competent; a beloved brand seems trustworthy in fields it has never touched.
What to listen for
Listen for credentials used as a stand in for an argument, praise for one skill turning into praise for all of them, and celebrity endorsements. The reverse works too: one flaw making someone seem wrong about everything.
Tips for watching and playing
Award shows, product launches, interviews and hiring discussions are rich ground for this theme.
Ask your group to note what the halo actually is before marking, which makes the post game chat much better.
When you host, pick whichever available packs fit the moment, or write your own private pack. Nothing selects a theme pack for you automatically.
